Unique in the flooring industry, Gym Floor Inspectors LLC is the nation's only independent, third-party gym floor inspector. Being unaffiliated with any contractor or manufacturer enables us to provide truly unbiased inspections and recommendations regarding the quality and installation of your wood floor.

Certified by the National Wood Flooring Association, our trained inspectors:

• Consult with owners and architects in the design and selection of wood flooring for their gymnasium, stage, or home.
• Consult with contractors regarding proper installation.
• Act as an owner’s reprehensive inspector during flooring installation.
• Inspect gymnasium flooring in schools and major universities, as well as residential wood flooring.
• Serve as expert legal witnesses for attorneys, owners, architects, manufacturers and contractors in litigation cases.

Gym Floor Inspectors LLC was founded in 2004 by Floyd Shelton. A pioneer in the industry, Floyd owned his own sports floor manufacturing and installation companies for nearly twenty years before selling them in 2004. He holds seven sports floor patents, established the world's only gym flooring installation school, and has taught over 800 students the proper technique of sports floor installation.

Floyd is a past president of the Maple Flooring Manufacturers Association. He also served seventeen years as chairman of the association's Technical Committee.
