Who We Are
Gym Floor Inspectors LLC was founded in 2004 by Floyd Shelton. A pioneer in the industry, Floyd owned his own sports floor manufacturing company under the name of Superior Floor Co, Inc. for nearly 20 years before selling Superior Floor in 2004. In 2005 he started Arizona Gym Floors, LLC in Scottsdale, Arizona and sold the company in 2024. He holds seven sports floor patents, established the world’s only gym flooring installation school, and has taught over 1500 students the proper technique of sports floor installation.
Our certified trained inspectors:
- Consult with owners and architects in the design and selection of wood flooring for their gymnasium, stage, or home.
- Consult with contractors regarding proper installation.
- Act as an owner’s reprehensive inspector during flooring installation.
- Inspect gymnasium flooring in schools and major universities, as well as residential wood flooring.
- Serve as expert witnesses in several litigation cases.
